how long to decide on offer

by mbafan » Wed Mar 11, 2009 4:55 pm
I have only applied to Canadian schools (including usual suspects like Rotman, Ivey, Queen's, etc).

When an offer of admission is made by a school, typically how long do they give you have to make a decision?

Thank you.

I would assume until the deposit deadline.
You're better off contacting the school directly or finding that information on their websites.

Sometimes one of the schools you apply to might require a decision before you've heard back from other schools. Therefore, it is important that you prioritize and have a clear strategy in mind before the offers start rolling in.

** adding to MBA Expert's point, *SOMETIMES* you can ask the school for a few weeks extension if you have a good reason. Its unlikely they will offer to you (esp a top MBA program), but doesn't hurt to ask and I know of some students who did get a few week extension to make their decision.
