Puneet , this has been nicely explained by Anurag here
https://www.beatthegmat.com/number-line-t85455.html.
Please use the search thread to see if the question already exist and has been discussed .
Also, avoid using screen shots unless its a diagram . Its not a good practice ..
regards!

Let n = -1/20.If n denotes a number to the left of 0 on the number line such that the square of n is less than 1/100, then the reciprocal of n must be
A. less than -10
B. between -1 and -1/10
C. between -1/10 and 0
D. between 0 and -1/10
E. greater than 10
This works because (-1/20)² = 1/400, which is less than 1/100.
In this case, the reciprocal of n = -20.
Only answer choice A works:
-20 is less than -10.
The correct answer is A.

We can plug some number for n and check it reciprocal.puneet2329 wrote:If n denotes a number to the left of 0 in the number line such that the square of n is less than the 1/100, then the reciprocal of n must be
A. Less than -10
B. Between -1 and - 1/10
C. Between -1/10 and 0
D. Between 0 and 1/10
E. Greater than 10
As n lies on the left of the 0 on the number line, n must be negative.
Also square of n is less than 1/100. So, n must be greater than -√(1/100) = -1/10
Let us assume n = -1/100
Reciprocal of n = 1/n = 1/-(1/100)) = -100 < -10
The correct answer is A.
