We need to use "lasting" since the verb refers to duration. "Last" refers to sequence.

I am still not getting it. Lasting and Last both can act as a verb. Wordweb dictionary says verb LAST means "persist for a specific perios of time".

Please help

Lasting is actually an adjective.
