The impact of failures due to rust in

The impact of failures due to rust in, corrosion of, and constant moisture leakage into cables is magnified due to the large number of synthesis-imaging arrays in the field.

A. constant moisture leakage into cables is magnified due to
B. constant cable moisture leakage is magnified as a result of there being
C. constantly leaking moisture into cables is magnified as a consequence of there being
D. moisture leaks constantly into cables is magnified because
E. cables with constant moisture leakage is magnified as a result of

a- use of DUE TO incorrect (it cannot modify IS MAGNFIED or CABLES)
b - RUST IN, CORROSION OF, AND CONSTANT CABLE MOISTURE LEAKAGE is magnified (RUST in WHAT? CORROSION of WHAT?). We need an appropriate noun
d- RUST IN, CORROSION OF, AND moisture leaks ARE NOT PARALLEL. (RUST in WHAT? CORROSION of WHAT?). We need an appropriate noun. LEAKS is a verb. DUE TO acts a modifier and therefore usage of verb is incorrect
e - RUST IN, CORROSION OF, AND cables with constant moisture leakage ARE NOT PARALLEL. (RUST in WHAT? CORROSION of WHAT?). We need an appropriate noun. does RUST IN constant moisture leakage make sense?

c RUST IN, CORROSION OF, AND constantly leaking moisture into cables ARE PARALLEL. RUST IN cables, CORROSION OF cables, AND constantly leaking moisture into cables makes sense

I think rust in and collusion of should be parallel with leakage rather than leaking moisture.

I think E is a suitable answer. Anybody have alternate opinions??

Use of "due to" is appropriate here.

There are at least three glaring mistakes in C.
1> "constantly leaking moisture" seems to imply that someone is knowinlgy leaking moisture
2> "constantly leaking moisture into" is not parallel to the noun + prep structure in "rust in" and "corrosion of"
3> "consequence of there being the" is awkward construction. (Option B also has this kind of awkward construction)

All options except A are erroneous wrt parallelism.

Only A rests the parallelism issue by having each piece of item in noun+prep form. It also correctly uses "due to".

What is the source of this question?

Choice C seems to be the correct answer since it maintains the parallel list & does not repeat the "due to" usage error. However, I would question the awkward construction "as a consequence of there being".

Choice A is clearly incorrect. It does not use "due to" correctly. As explained in detail here, "due to" is used only to modify nouns. In choice A it is used incorrectly to modify the verb - is magnified.
