Hello.I just graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and have a campus offer from a software firm.I wish to apply to world class MBA institutes after gaining at least two years of work experience. Will these MBA institutes question me over the change/consistency in my professional background?

Hello farhaz, thanks for your question.

First, congrats on your graduation!

When you do apply to business school in 2 or more years, the onus will be on you to paint a picture that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future. You will have to demonstrate to the admissions committees that your desired career path necessitates an MBA. Additionally, your post-MBA goals should make sense given your background. If you paint a logical, plausible career arc, then that could be convincing. Full-time MBA programs do accept many career changers. It just depends on whether your particular career "story" makes sense.

Best of luck!
Brian
