I believe announced can be used without that. Even i was debating on this with myself untill i googled on announce.
Read this https://www.thefreedictionary.com/announce:
EX: snowdrops announced the arrival of spring

@anju, u r correct in saying that announced need not followed by "that".
but the point here is, we normally say:
1)Ravi Shastri announced the name of the player, who was the man of the match, in the presentation.
or
2)The teacher announced the results of Class X students.
i.e., the announcements (the name of the player/the results) normally follows the word announced.
in the above examples, B,C,D n E sound very awkward to me.
Thanks!

Guys why is C incorrect ...
As per what I understand
a. they is not correct does it refer to stores or it refers to Trans world
b. its is ambiguous ...it is closing 1/4 of stores ..which accounted for its (companys poor sales or stores poor sales)
c. it = company was closing its stores coz of poor sales.

I marked C when I did this question. I eliminated A coz it used past tense (announced), present tense (are poor) and future tense (will be closed)...Moreover, they seems ambiguous here...mmslf75 wrote:By the waysulabh wrote:Trans World Entertainment Corporation, which owns
