I always seem to get these complex type of questions wrong - would appreciate some help as to where Im going wrong. Im not sure whether im identifying multiple errors or seeing things which dont exist.
1) The autombile company announced that the average price of next year's models would decrease four-tenths of one percent, amounting to about $72, as compared with comparably equipped cars and trucks this year

d) Compared to comparably equipped models this year, the automobile company announced that the average price of next year's cars and trucks would decrease about $72, less by four-tenths of one percent
e) Contrasted with comparably equipped cars and trucks of this year, the automobile company announced that the average price of next year's models would decrease about $72, or four-tenths of one percent
Amount to or amounting? Compared with or compared to? Does the placing of cars and trucks v models matter?
Q2) An international team of astronomers working at telescopes in the Canary islands and Spain has detected at least 18 huge gas spheres estimated to have 5 to 15 times the mass of Jupiter, the solar system's largest planet.
a) astronomers working at telescopes in the Canary islands and Spain has detected at least 18 huge gas spheres estimated to have 5 to 15 times the mass of Jupiter

In my opinion, two of the answers above should work. would be great to get your views. Thanks!
