GMAT Score:700
A few months ago I took a 'practice' GMAT from Kaplan and scored a 550. This was with no prep/studying and without really knowing the type of questions I'd encounter. I did a lot better on the verbal section than I did on the math section.

What is the best way to go about preparing for the real GMAT? I'd like to plan on taking it in about 8 weeks. I'm looking to score a 700+.

Also, can you provide some advice on books? I've heard mixed reviews about Kaplan, Princeton Review, and the OG. I currently have the Kaplan GMAT premier program book.

Thanks for you help!

Kaplan is great for students aiming for 500-650. However, students trying to score higher should use a different source of prep, such as Manhattan GMAT.
