Hi All,
In the latest beatheGMAT flash cards, it says that:
One of the + PLURAL NOUN + that/who + SINGULAR VERB
example: He is one of the persons who "bakes" spectacular cakes.
But the previous version of the beattheGMAT flash cards said:
One of the + PLURAL NOUN + that/who + PLURAL VERB
example:He is one of the persons who "make" money.
I am really confused. Can someone please help me understand which one is correct?
Thanks
Mohit

The previous version is correct:
"One of the + PLURAL NOUN + that/who + PLURAL VERB
example:He is one of the persons who "make" money."
Here is a simple explanation:
He is among the persons who make money. You need to identify which persons: "Those who make money"
Since "persons" is plural, "make" (conjugated plural version of "to make" in the third person plural) must be used.
In this type of construction, the verb in the second clause generally refers to the noun(s) just preceding the relative pronoun (who, that, which).
Anyhow, always think of what the writer is trying to say.
