I think you can eliminate C and D off the bat because of the use of others ("from one necklace to others" is incorrect). E is similarly awkward and I think "from one to another" is the idiom we're looking for here. So we're choosing between A and B.

"Like" is a synonym for "similar to" whereas "as" (I believe) should only be used in comparison if it is comparing two verbs. '"Moving" is a participle so we can't use "as" here.

So the correct answer is B.

I'd say D

First it has to be "like" not "as" because you are comparing different things (genes and pearls).

So we are left with D and B. D has the correct parallel verb "do", so it is the correct one.

this sentence is comparing genes with pearls... we use 'like' when we are comparing nouns... eg. in this case, genes ...like pearls...
