Appositive doubt

Hello,

In the link below Stacey has mentioned that Appositives can sometimes behave as adverbial modifiers. I thought "Noun+noun phrases" modifying entire clause are termed as Absolute phrases.
I know terminology is never tested in GMAT, but for my understanding, can you help explain the difference between "Appositive acting as an adverbial modifier" and "Absolute phrase"
