Adverb concet

by raka3399 » Sun Aug 16, 2009 10:13 am
Can some one help me with the adverb concept?

Is it that adverb always comes after the main verb in a sentence

Ex: I am (main verb) now (adverb) going to the market.

Thanks

An adverb can modify a verb, adjective, another adverb, a clause etc.
Hence it need to modify only a verb.

well agreed that adverb modifies a verb .... what i need to know is the placement of the adverb in a grammatical construstion ....

which of the 2 sounds better .....

I am now going to the market

OR

Now i am going to the market .

My understanding is ... now comes after the main verb .
