If an employee needs to purchase 512 nails for his company and buys 4 of the containers of 128 instead of 2 of the containers of 256, approximately how much more money per nail did the employee spend than he would have if he had bought the larger containers? a) 0.02 b) 0.03 c) 0.04 d) 0.04 e) 0.05 Can some experts help me find the best solution in this problem? b) 0.03
c) 0.04
d) 0.04

Can some experts help me find the best solution in this problem?

OA A
Total cost of 4 containers of 128 nails each = 4 * 7.75. = $31. Cost per nail = 31/512 Total cost of 2 containers of 256 nails each = 2 * 9.75 = 19.50. Cost per nail = 19.50/512 The difference = 31/512 - 19.50/512 = 11.50/512, Who wants to do that? Let's approximate. Call it 10/500 = 1/50 = 2/100 = .02. The answer is A. _________________ Veritas Prep | GMAT Instructor Veritas Prep Reviews Save$100 off any live Veritas Prep GMAT Course
