A set of data consists of the following 5 numbers : {0,2,4,6,8}

What 2 no.s if added to create a set of 7, will result in SD that is closest to the SD for set of 5 original nos.

1. -1,9
2. 4,4
3. 3,5
4. 2,6
5. 0,8

For your 2nd query, Vavg = Total Distance/Total Time

V_avg = 2D/(D/U+D/V) = 2/(1/U+1/V)

=> 2/V_avg=1/U+1/V => V=2UV/(U+V)

IMO C is right.

YOu need to have 2 equation to solve for a and b

From 1. what if a=4 and b=0 . hence 1. is not enough

using both 1 and 2 , a and b can be calcualted hence C

IMO D

'After' along with 'since' seems awkward in A,B abd E

also B uses were the former East Germans which is wrong as we are talkin bout 1 grp. Had been is not required in A and E

As since 1989 is used, we need continuation hence 'has been' is better than 'was' so IMO C is not correct.
