B-School Essay Format

In undergrad I was a journalism major. Needless to say, I learned and prefer to write in AP style or like something you'd see in a newspaper.

Is it okay to write my essays in AP style or should I write in the more traditional form? Thanks for your help

I always get confused on this is it supposed to be:
from either x or y
or
either from x or y

I was thinking "has" would be used for this answer. Is there any particular reason why it is not?

34-28 is 6 so I think that's where the 6 comes from but that -1 is throwing me off still. It's just not clicking for me for some reason
