Hey all, I've just finished my first attempt at the GMAT and am quite disappointed. I felt that I under performed, and ended up with an annoying score that is just high enough to not really justify retaking it, but low enough to be concerned with. I devoted 11 full days for exam preparation, and en...

Calling all veterans
Dear BTG Veterans, I'm currently a first year student at Chicago Booth, and I'm a former US Marine Officer. I recently navigated the application process, having applied to six schools in Round 1 while I was in Afghanistan. I know many Round 1 deadlines have either passed or are approaching, but if a...

Average GMAT Scores
Hi all,
Does anyone know which MBA programs average out your GMAT scores, and which ones only consider your best score?
As many of you may know, I've taken the GMAT 4 times, so it's pretty important to me.

Given your other scores, a 4.0 is strange. If it's bugging you, you may want to get the essay rescored. From the mba.com website: If you have reason to believe that your score for the Analytical Writing Assessment portion of the GMAT test is not accurate, you may request that your essay be rescored...

Bombed the AWA? How? I'm so perplexed.
Hi guys, I have a question, anybody is welcome to comment, but if we have any former adcom types, it will be especially helpful: My official GMAT scores just came out and I'm pretty concerned about it. 24 September 2012 Verbal 44 / 97% Quant 48 / 78% Overall 750 / 98% AWA 4.0 / 20% (?????) IR 8 / 92...

Nice work, Devil Dog. Good luck on the applications! I know you're estatic with your score, but did you know can get $250 back? Now you can proudly say you only spent $750 on the GMAT. That's like eating a big ice cream Sundae and finding a couple benjamins at the bottom of the dish. http://www.dan...

I just go up to my recommenders and say: "Hey sir, do you mind sending me the recommendation questions by email so I can type up some talking point that I'd like you to address?"
They're usually happy to oblige.

Recommenders
Hi all, I'm gunning for six schools in Round 1 - HBS, Kellogg, Fuqua, Booth, Ross, and Darden respectively. That's 13 recommendation letters that I need to furnish. My recommenders are all here deployed with me in Afghanistan, and they work 100+ hour work weeks. They are supportive of my ambitions a...
