Yes, I did. The last 2 days had been very hectic. Phew! Submitted the application on the last day itself. The lesson learnt is to constantly work on your application ;otherwise things become very stressful when there's not much time left for the application deadline.
Great. Are you also applying to the IIMC program ? And how about XLRI GMP ?

Yes, I'll be applying to the IIMC PGPX program also ? The deadline for the same is just round the corner. Not very sure about applying to the XLRI GMP program because I don't know how good it is,but I'll definitely keep it as one of my options. I am also looking at the PGPX program at IIML. The best thing about the program is that it is offered on it's Noida campus,so I won't have to go through the hassle of changing my city and disturbing my family life. So IIML is also in!

Though I was actually planning to apply for September 2012 intake ,the R1 deadline for which is still a month away, but I'm now more inclined to apply for the Jan 2013 intake . The deadline for the same is in April 2012. The reason is that since I've applied to IIMA and will be applying to IIMC and ISB also, so firstly I wanna see whether I hear something positive from these schools. If I get an admit from any of the Indian schools, then I'll lap it up; if I don't , then INSEAD is the next option.

When do you plan to take the GMAT ? I think you've been around here on the forum for quite sometime.
Soon :)
But my presence on the forum is purely out of interest. I like coming around here and do not intend to stop after my exam. I see that many people start out on the journey not knowing where to start and I just want to help and share everything I can.

Hi

Congrats black knight...nice work and great motivation...

@ Vineesh thats a great thinking.......This is the only reason BTG is a active Blog.

Same here. Most probably I'll be also applying for the Jan 2012 intake. Let's see how things shape up. Any plans to apply to INSEAD singapore?

I thought the same application is considered both for Singapore and fontainebleau ? Or are there separate applications for the 2 campuses ?
Cheers !!

Yes, you're correct. My mistake :-O During your application to INSEAD,one has to indicate whether he/she wants to start her course at the Fonty campus or the Singapore one, after which though you can switch campuses so I was just referring to that. :)

@rishi
I read it somewhere that almost 70% of the students at INSEAD switch their campuses during their program. A lot of people start at Fonty, then go to Singapore for the next two terms and then return to Fonty for the last term. It is usually suggested that the choice of campus in the last term should ideally depend on which region do you want to eventually work in .For example, if you want to work in Europe then graduating from the Fonty campus is better and if you want to work in Asia-pacific then graduating from the Singapore campus will provide you more opportunities.I eventually want to work in Asia-pacific only because this is the region where the growth lies, so I may start at Fonty and then switch to Singapore.

True. Also since the tuition at both the schools is the same so it doesn't even make any difference. And at the end, one will be called an INSEAD graduate, not fountainbeau or Singapore one. I have heard that some students at the Fonty campus live in Chateaus. I was like "Wow!How cool is that!" on hearing that! :-D The other benefit of Fonty is that the bonding between students is supposedly better .Since singapore has a lot of distractions, so people form their own groups and party in contrast to Fonty where the whole student community is like a one big happy family :)

Very true. And since in the long run,I'd like to work in Asia, so this would be a great opportunity for me to enjoy a couple of months in Fonty and experience the French culture(though I haven't heard great things about the french; have heard that they're a very closed society and do not mix up well with foreigners)

Sorry guys for not being able to update you. Yes, I did have my interview around a week back. There were three interviewing panels with three panel members each. I had my interview with the second panel. The interview started well but when it came to the usual why MBA question, they really caught me. I had prepared well for the response since this is a usual one asked in such interview but they didn't seem convinced. We kept on going back and forth on this topic for almost 10 minutes. In the end, one panelist changed the topic and gave a breather by asking something related to my job and the interview winded up.
All in all, I am quite ambivalent about my performance. I don't know whether they geniunely felt that I'm not clear why I need an MBA or it was just a ploy to stress me out and see how I respond.
Keeping my fingers crossed but not very hopeful. Bad start to the season.
