Hehe. Yeah. I hope the classes are not too heavy on quant though for which IIMC is famous(or notorious) for!rishi raj wrote:Whoa! That's really great. You'll be a Jokha man now!

Great achievement. Can you please share more about your profile if you don't mind ? That would give me an idea about the kind of profiles IIM PGPX programs look for .

Great success. IIMC is great especially because of the quality of students. Even Indira Nooyi, the Chairman of Pepsico, is an alumuns of the school though of the 2 year MBA program.

Yes, she graduated from IIMC in 1976 but then again went for a 2 year Masters program in Public and Private management(graudated in 1980 from this program). So I think that the Yale tag, network, exposure, opportunities(she went on to work for BCG) helped her more to become a global leader.runthegmat wrote:Great success. Very true. I was going through the profiles of IMD students and saw quite a few students who have done their MBA in India from institutes like IIFT, MDI and even IIMs so a lot of Indians do go for a second MBA.Black Knight wrote: Yes, she graduated from IIMC in 1976 but then again went for a 2 year Masters program in Public and Private management(graudated in 1980 from this program). I think that in the mad rat race during college in India, all of the students want to crack the CAT and get through a business school without knowing exactly what they want to do post MBA. They are just lured by the fat salaries. After MBA, for sometime that charm of earning well remains for sometime but when the monotony starts setting in and people actually start realizing that they are stuck up in the wrong jobs , they decide to go for a second MBA. I really feel bad for us Indians who are trapped in this mad mad rat race and extreme peer pressure and family pressure.

Well said. This is the reason, you will see that unlike that in the US where kids want to start something of their own during college, most of the entrepreneurs in India start their own thing after working for a couple of years in the industry and after realizing that they don't want to spend the rest of their lives slogging their asses off.megadeth wrote:I think that in the mad rat race during college in India, all of the students want to crack the CAT and get through a business school without knowing exactly what they want to do post MBA.
