just beat the gmat 730 48Q 41V

Just took the GMAT several hours ago and scored 730 (48Q/41V). A little disappointed with Verbal but my intellectual stamina was completely drained after question 21.Barely managed to finish the test on time, which was also unusual for me as I had breezed through the Verbal sections of the mba.com mock exams, finishing with 10 minutes to spare both times.

mba.com exam 1: 710 Q44/V44
mba.com exam 2: 680 Q40/V42

In my opinion, the official guide is your best bet on quant. Verbal on the real thing was more challenging - difficult SC, lengthy scientific passages. I have not taken any other exams except for the official mock exams provided by GMAC.

I have one concern which I hope any of you guys can address. Immediately after completing the AWA portion of the test (and before starting the Q section), there was a power outage, which lasted for about an hour. After the power outage problem was fixed, I resumed the test and finished both Q and V sections without any interruptions. The test administrator filed an incident report, describing the power outage, as per official GMAC guidelines.

Do you guys think that the GMAC might decide to cancel my score on the grounds of the power outage? After all,I am not the one to blame for it and what's more, I felt like I was actually disadvantaged for having to wait and stress out for an extra hour or so. Having to retake the exam will be a disaster for me as it will force me to miss my INSEAD deadline (sept 30th).

Thank you and best of luck to you all!

CONGRATS! Awesome performance, especially considering your stressful power outage experience--wow!

I highly doubt GMAC would cancel your scores; if anything, I might call and ask for your money back. This incident caused needless stress upon you, and you don't deserve to go through something like that especially when you've paid $250.

Good luck! Look forward to hearing about your successful b-school acceptance. :)
