Inequalities - Small clarification

by ankur.agrawal » Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:08 am
2x-12 <=12 ?

I would add 12 both sides & divide by 2 which gives:

x<=12.

Is this correct to do this. We don't know the sign of x here.

Thx in advance.

This is right.
We don't know the sign of "x", but we know the sign of "2" (+ve) with which we are dividing both the sides.
Thanks
