reco letters

Hi - one of my recommenders asked a question which I was not able to answer. Generally speaking, how long should an essay be for a recommendation question. Generally, schools seem to have 3-4 questions which require separate write-ups.

Insead has 7 questions.
Kellogg has 3 essay questions and one of them has 5 sub-elements.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you

It really depends but most answers to individual questions range from 1-3 paragraphs. They don't have to write books. It is important that the recommender provide an example to support the the claims they make about you.
