Before the verbal section (on practice tests) i write down a timing chart that helps me keep track of my pace. I usually write down the chart during the break between sections.
On the actual test day, can I write this chart down during breaks? I'm wondering because I don't want the proctors to suspect that i'm cheating if they see me write something down on my notepad before the section begins.

The only time that you have to yourself while you are at your desk is the 4 minute "tutorial" before the test begins. When you come back from a break and you get signed back in by the proctor the test goes right to the next section. I doubt you would be accused of cheating, but the clock might just be running on the actual section.

You do get one minute. That should be long enough!

why not? It is your time, your computer, your test. I wonder what GMAC might say. I doubt that it is a problem.
