Every member of a book club volunteers to contribute equally to the purchase of a new bookcase that costs $180. How many members does the club have?
1. Each member's contribution is to be $6.
2. If 10 club members decide not to contribute, then the remaining members must increase their contribution by $3.

1 ) Sufficient.
180 dollars for the book and cost per person is 6. Hence 180/6 can be solved.
2)If 10 club members decide not to contribute, then the remaining members must increase their contribution by $3.
No of ppl = p
contribution = c.
p * c =180
Now as per the condition
if 10 dont contribute, contribution goes up by 3
(p-10) * (c+3) =180
p*c -10c + 3p -30 = 180
Solve and you can get p.
