Verbal Score < Quant Score?

by MBACRACKER » Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:29 am
Verbal score is only 31 compared to 49 in Quant even though fewer mistakes in verbal compared to Quant. Can anyone explain the algorithm in the scoring pattern?

Question for Question - Verbal will always penalize you more than Quant. The other way to look at it is Verbal is a lot easier to improve (i.e. getting a few more questions right will get you a better improvement).

I have explained the factors as well as the number of questions you need to get right/wrong for a corresponding raw score in both Quant and Verbal here: https://www.crackverbal.com/blog/gmat-sc ... ied-partly

Hope this helps,
