Brian is dividing 50 marbles into 3 groups. How many marbles are in the largest of the 3 groups?
1. The sum of the 2 smaller groups of marbles is equal to the largest group of marbles
2. The smallest group contains 6 marbles

let three groups be x,y and z each containing a,b and c marbles repectively and z is the largest group
s1) a+b=c
a+b+c=50(from question stem)
c+c=50(from s1)--->c=25
suff
s2) a=6 we dont know b and c insuff
s1) a+b=c
a+b+c=50(from question stem)
c+c=50(from s1)--->c=25
suff

yes def. since s1 gives the value of only one group and the sum of other two group , we need further information reagrading at least one of the other two.gmatmachoman wrote:@pheonix bhai,
