Usage of Each

This is a correct sentence : The apartments each have their own private entrances.

Why one cannot use has instead of have above? Even though the subject is plural yet we are speaking about each of the apartments in the sentence which is singular !

Each that follows a subject has no bearing on the number or even the subject. In fact without the each also, the sentence works. They are great tennis players. They each are great tennis players. Each just gives emphasis on the fact that every single one and not general apartments.

So in your sentence.
The apartments each have their own private entrances. Subject is apartments and hence HAVE
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)

mgmat sc guide mentions this as the case when each follows the subject
