I am also with Vivek
ie A

B
dollars were minted as coins
its incorrect

C
we have it in non underlined part
so we needa clear antecedent of it
which is coin
and C does not mention about coins

also
dollars that were minted between 1979 and........
is looking weird

D
no antecedent for it

E
incorrectly means that dollars proved unpopular
also coins is missing

I understand this question, but can someone explain the usage of proved? Why does this proved not use the passive voice?
Thanks in advance!
