Due to Vs Because of
Due to is used if the verb before "due to" is auxiliary verb
Example:
The cancellation of the program was due to rain.
The delay of her arrival was due to illness.
"Because of" is used if the verb before "because of" is a main verb.
Example:
The program was canceled because of rain.
She made delay to arrive because of illness.
--> We can eliminate the options A and B because the verb is "become", a main verb.
Comparison MUST be parallel:
Because X than because Y, where X and Y are clauses. This eliminates C.
Because of + NOUN is the correct use. So we need to use "because of their bodies' burning".
Here, bodies needs an apostrophe ('). Eliminate E.
Answer is D.
