A. on the contrary, the first sentence argues against this mindset 'something is better than nothing'
B. no mention is made of other forms of treatment. reject
C. no mention is made of other forms of treatment. reject
D. okay. here's where i fell for the trap 'effective or inexpensive'
So this choice says, if therapy is effective or inexpensive -> use it
this has a weakness that a therapy might be 'effective but very expensive ' or 'not effective but inexpensive'
Certainly this is not the author's intent.
i didnt reason well enough while choosing D. ( pls clarify if my reasoning is correct)
E. Yes, this is the author's intent. a treatment might be effective but very expensive. So the expense factor needs to be considered while making the right choice abt the treatment.
This is the correct answer
