by prachich1987 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 11:42 pm
Hi,

I am applying to Mays Business School for 1st Nov deadline and the Essay -2 is really giving me a tough time
"To what personal characteristics do you attribute your professional success? What has prevented you from becoming more successful?

Regarding the first part of above question, I am not able to understand whether I should list my characteristics one by one along with explanation, examples etc OR I should not distingusih among them and write a continuous essay.

Please help
Thanks!

Well, why not choose three or four characteristics and attach them to CONCRETE yet impressive stories that SHOW these characteristics????

So for example if you tell us you are inventive, and then show us how you came up with five new products which brought in a million dollars a year, then you have done a very good job!

Thanks Jon for your reply!
I have a one more question
Mays Doesn't have any essay question on short term and long term goals
But on application portal we are supposed to answer the below question in 100 words or less

"What are your career plans upon completion of your MBA degree?* (Full-Time MBA applicants only)
Please limit your response to 100 words or less"

Should I write only about my short term goals here or both about short term and long term goals?
Thanks!

You are welcome!

You definitely should write those short term goals in. As for long term goals, if you have clear ones you can write "with the hope of eventually moving to xxx" or something along those lines, without any problem fitting it in.
