Dear All, I need your great advise on how I can improve my Gmat score
I have completed my primary study last July 2015. I have used the following materials
1) Powers core CR
2) Manhattan GMAT study guides ( except Sc)
3) Sc Aristotle

The following are my CAT score:
GMAT prep 410 (quant 29, verbal 17) on May 15 2015
Manhattan CAT 1 ( quant 29, verbal 30) today 7 August 2015
I have seen only small improvement in the score , feel hopeless at the same time,
How can I improve my score? Do I need to do gmat practice and review? What is the effective approach ?any way I can speed up this process.

Hi finas83,

In this series of posts, you describe your study approach earlier this year:

https://www.beatthegmat.com/how-technolo ... 82062.html

Based on what you've written in this post, you've continued to use a 'book-heavy' study approach, which is likely part of your overall problem (as it was when we originally discussed it). You've gotten as far as you probably can go with THIS approach, so you're going to have to make some adjustments to your studies to score higher.

When are you planning to take the GMAT?
When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Dear Rich many thanks for your valuable reply, you got very high score of 800, in gmat, that is awesome. Congratulations
Do you have suggestion I'e what kind of study plan I can opt moving forward. I'm not native speaker and need to work both venal and quant. Currently I'm reviewing my past wrong answers ,
I have limited time to study due to work commitment. I use my lunch break of 1 hour and 30 minutes or slightly more for revision. Since I have limited time to study I dont know if tutoring can help me.
Thank you

finas-

I think the single most important thing for preparers is to understand what they don't know. Sounds silly, but digging deeply into mathematical rules, grammar rules, logic, etc. and seeing exactly how the GMAT tests material is important. Simply doing problems and checking answers is not enough. What you really want is to be able to categorize different question types, and, even further, understand exactly the different ways errors and challenges are proposed. Hope that helps.

Hi finas83,

I have to second what Jim pointed out. Take some time to review both of your practice exams and try to identify what kinds of questions you get wrong most frequently. You can do as many practice sets as you want, but ultimately your greatest amount of growth will come when you attack the areas that give you the most trouble.

Best,
Rich
