I am from India and I have 2 years of work-ex till date. I plan to join a b-school in 2018/2019. I am starting with GMAT preparation in the coming week. But before that, I needed to know if I need to get my profile evaluated for the relevant b-school. Just worried if my target colleges don't match up with the ones I can realistically get into.
Also, if someone can throw some light on a step-by-step process they followed to make full use of the time they had for the GMAT, application process and interviews.
TIA
Should I get my profile evaluated first?

It's great that you're taking a rational and systematic approach to B-school admissions. Since most applications would be open by the time you would have completed your GMAT, we think it's the right time for you to gather your thoughts and begin your research on what would be the right B-school for you. Here's what we recommend:
1. Identify your career goals: The first step would be to isolate your short-term and long-term goals. This is the most important part of the application. Speak to friends, family and seniors. It's perfectly fine to be ambitious at this point. After all, that's why you're doing an MBA!
2. Map your goals and profile to the right B-school: Every school has a soft-spot and a strength. It is pertinent to identify which school would be the right platform to launch your post-MBA career. You can also try our B-school selector tool, which can help with this decision: Free B school shortlisting https://www.apphelp.co.in/Bschool-selection.htm
3. Attend roadshows and info-sessions. Talk to alumni and ad-com to dig deeper into what aspects of your profile need to be showcased.
4. Build the right story. The right GMAT score and the right essays that showcase your leadership qualities are the culmination of three to four months of hard work.
So begin early, and stay focused.
