How can the answer be 5. I drew 3 circles and the cooking circle has:
cooking only =3
cooking & Yoga = 4
all three have =2
this leads only 1 left for both cooking & weaving
cooking has 10 total - 3-4-2=1
please clarify
thanks

I write you what I have in the circle of cooking.
The core of the problem is there:
4 of them study both the cooking and yoga, 2 of them participate all curriculums.
In my view, the 2 who participate all curriculums are also counted in the 4 who do both because the sentence say "of them" to designate the total population.
If you do not include them so the answer is 1 as you said.
cooking only =3
cooking & Yoga & no weaving= 2
all three have =2
cooking & weaving & no yoga=X
10-3-2-2=X=3
The question ask "both cooking and weaving", I take all three and X
it gives 2+3=5
Can someone give the official answer ?

Anyone to discuss about the way this type of question is constructed by the gmat? Is it always in the same way of thinking?
You can understand the question in two ways:
Either you understand 4 only study both cooking and yoga or you understand 4 people are in cooking and yoga which let them the possibility to also participate in weaving.
This sentence is irrelevant: "4 of them study both the cooking and yoga" and the question as well...
