serious advice needed!!!

by AnitaW » Sun Aug 16, 2009 1:18 pm
Hi Guys,

I need some serious advice on what to do from here. I have been studying for the GMAT for several months now (since April). Took a Kaplan course and have tried private tutoring. When I started I had forgotten ALL math concepts. I am at the point now where I know most of the stuff but when I am writing a CAT I blank, can't remember how to solve or get very flustered and pick the wrong answer. After when reviewing I notice some on the ones I got wrong I really knew but under pressure I got flustered. What can I do about this?

Also, my verbal goes up and down, the highest I scored was 87th percentile on a kaplan test and my math is 38th percentile. Everyone says the GMAT prep is more reflective and Kaplan cats are tough. Well today I took a GMAT prep and I am stuck at a 580 this has been my score on several cats (kaplan). Quant 34 Verbal 35. The majority of questions in verbal I got wrong were sentence correction. CR and RC are good. I tried the Manhattan GMAT SC book but not helping. In the OG I get most of the verbal right.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to include everything. I feel like maybe I am not studing right since my score isn't moving in the last 8 weeks.

In addition to visiting the SC resource on this forum check this out
https://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/gma ... l-f31.html and read/try to understand Ron's explanations for GMAT PREP SC questions.
I benefitted from it and it might help you also.

Good luck!
