Hmmmm... I do of course understand your logic, and that 2000$ in some countries can be a huge sum. But let's look at it differently. It's $2000, invested in preparing the way for the entire investment which is likely to be near 150,000$. (or more!) So, my first thought is (Adcom and chances aside),...

It depends from person to person... I personally wouldn't do that because of money concerns. Yes, it's possible to get a slight edge, but it wouldn't justify the cost for me. However, if I were a German national making 4000 euros a month, then going for campus visits would definitely be on my to do...

International Applicants - Campus Visits

Hi all I have been pondering over scheduling campus visits to 5 - 6 bschools sometime during Sep/Oct this year. And obviously (apart from the inherent benefits of such visits) the first concern/constraint would be to invest sufficient time, money and effort for these visits. I would like to call upo...

i received a private message regarding this question. mike -- BUT, if a and b have a GCF of 6, and if 6 the greatest common divisor of a and b, then that means if we write a = 6x and b = 6y, then we know that x and y must be mutually prime. Mutually prime does play an important role in the problem,...

This a reply to Jayanth2689 's question First of all, I want to say: great work in this thread! I agree with the answer of A that all participants have gotten and have explained very well. In the original post, you said: MGMAT says that for a and b to always have 6 as the GCF, they have to be mutua...

Hi experts! just had a quick question regarding the problem in this thread (posted by me 6 months back) If 6 IS the GCF of a and b, how can a and b be mutually prime? Don't mutually prime numbers have just 1 as a common factor? In this case they also have 2 and 3 as common factors too! Please do cor...

I have to agree with everyone else -- there are no shortcuts on RC, except a solid strategy and an understanding of what to look for as you read. These are my favorite tips to keep in mind: Always look for at the thesis for the Main Idea. Just like most 5-paragraph essays, the author of a reading p...

We can solve this by PEMDAS.

1 - (1/2 + 1/3) - (1/4 + 1/5) - (1/6 + 1/7) - (1/8 + 1/9) - 1/10 = ?

Addition first. Subtraction last.

so, 1 - (0.83) - (0.45) - (0.30) - (0.24) - 0.1

1 - 1.92 = - 0.92

Is this right?

Your writing is strong, but I think you spent too much time summarizing the argument in the first paragraph. While I think that it's good to do some summarizing, I would just simplify the conclusion. You can go into greater detail in the body of your essay. I see a lot of students questioning stati...

Please Rate My Argument Essay (From MGMAT CAT 5)

The following appeared in a newspaper editorial during the holiday shopping season: "Americans spend far too much of their time buying and consuming non-essential goods. Studies show that, on average Americans spend over a quarter of their leisure time shopping. As such, it is no secret why Ame...

How should one rock in SC?

10 days more for the gmat..and still getting only 70% of the SC questions right...most of the times i have absolutely no problem in eliminating 3 choices..but i make careless errors (judgemental, grammatical) in choosing the right option.. i have learnt that the intended meaning of the sentence is k...

Guys, I know the answer is D and I chose it too. But my purpose of asking this question is to understand more about causality than to specifically answer answer this questions. If possible, please try to find a flaw in the argument : If A then B but also, if C then B Thus we have weakened the origi...
