Re: Disastrous MGMAT first two CAT scores
I took the first two CATs and scored a miserable 680 in both. I have identified my weak areas and have realized that, without the silly mistakes, I could have scored in the 700 - 720 range. Is MGMAT quant tougher than actual GMAT? Some questions are brutal!!!. Verbal is fine though. I took a three ...

You know, I have noticed this too. You are 100% right. It is insensitive and rude. I know that some people would die to get a 680. Hell, this is what I was hoping for! But even a low 600 can get you into a competitive school. Yes, it's more about the total package than GMAT score alone. Stanford tur...

Get MGMAT Quantitative books! They're GRREAAAT! (Tony the Tiger quote unintentional). They helped me a lot in solving problems quickly for quant. Their number properties book is second to none. I wouldn't recommend using OG to study math because some of their methods/explanations suck. Wait a secon...

Hi Lucretius, Thanks for your reply and congrats on your high score. Here's my CAT scores are: 1) Q42 V27 2) Q42 V23 I definitely need to improve both sections in order to get into the 700's. I read both Manhattan GMAT and Princeton's materials and then I went through the OG and GMAT prep questions...

Gingertea, What were your CAT scores like? Were you timing yourself during your studies? Maintaining a log is paramount to tracking your progression. On top of knowing the material, strategy plays an equally important role. Are you spending too much time on a single question? Are you feeling burnt o...

I just read thru your de-brief and realised how much it mirrored mine. I am still a few weeks away from the actual GMAT and I'm Quant challenged; meaning that I lack that part of the brain that processes numbers :) But Verbal is my strong area as I was formerly a journalist and now a corporate lawy...

Thanks much! MGMAT saves ALL of your test results. So you can always go back to them to analyze them if you want. Their CATs are by far the best when it comes to analyzing your CATs.
