After a lot of thinking and waiting, I have decided to withdraw from the UCLA waitlist and attend UT-Austin McCombs this coming fall. A lot of factors went into my decision, but ultimately I think it's the right one for me based on the environment I want during my MBA and what I want to do post-MBA....

For most of the schools you can download a pdf of the recommendation form (from the school website) in case your recommenders can't submit electronically and have to mail it in. I wonder how much longer that will continue given everything else is electronic though. From what I can tell, they ask a r...

Hi Brianm Could you please share some experience with the Texas admission? I am very much interested in the Texas MBA and wondering what all they look for in terms of credentials and experience. I have a GMAT score of 640 and still in a dilemma over retaking it. Thanks in advance.... -2001MBAspiran...

Well it looks like I might have been the first person dinged off Berkeley's waitlist for this review period. I guess it was an easy decision for them. I got the email around 3 CT today and nobody else on BW or gmatclub is reporting anything. I can't say I'm surprised. I felt like I had nothing to lo...

If you're this unsure about your backups then I would suggest putting a lot of effort into researching them (just as much as your top schools, or even more if you know your top schools really well) to make sure you would want to go there if you were accepted. If you don't get a good vibe or you lear...

I would say if you're rejecting an offer from them, why would you want to reapply to those schools you turned down? It makes no logical sense at all UNLESS your career goals dramatically change and you realize you should have gone to the school you turned down. Like money said, all you're doing is w...

This really depends on what you're doing now job-wise and what you want your MBA for. I wouldn't get another master's just to bide my time before an MBA, but if the additional masters leads you toward your longer term goal then I don't think it's a bad thing. I think people get too hung up on number...

Aaaaaaaand waitlisted at UCLA. AAAAAARGH. I'm in a pretty awkward spot now that is going to cost me a decent chunk of change no matter what. Texas deposit is due April 15 (I'm not 100% sold yet, especially with slight hope for UCLA and Berkeley) Berkeley additional info is due April 28 for May 8 de...

I'm waiting for my last school's decision - UCLA - to come out on 3/31, so I feel your pain. At least you know the dates you'll receive the decisions and they're not rolling admissions!

Good luck!

Any chance you would be willing to talk with me about what turned you off about Kellogg? I would be very interested in hearing what happened. Great article your dad sent you. Seems like just about everybody gets dinged from Harvard! Sure, I can go into it a little bit of detail. This was just my ex...

Yep, just UCLA now. They've been pretty straightforward with their communication about admissions so I don't expect to hear one way or the other until early next week or on the deadline day of 3/31. I'm still pretty bummed about Kellogg but I realize I just have to move on. There are a few things I ...
