1st year = 4'+x
2nd year=4'+2x
3rd year=4'+3x
4th year=4'+4x
5th year=4'+5x
6th year=4'+6x

Being 'x' the annual increase.

Algebrically the statement says 6/5*(4+4x)=4+6x

Solve it and find that x=2/3.

What is the median? The median is the midle number. (remind that median is not the mean)

Since this serie has 73 entrees, the median is the entree nr. 37.

Entree nr. 37 is on the interval 80-89. Just count the entrees until you find where is nr.37

A. f(a+b)=a^2+2ab+b^2 f(a)=a^2 f(b)=b^2 so f(a+b) no equal to f(a) + f(b) B. f(a+b)=a+b+1 f(a)=a+1 f(b)=b+1 so f(a+b) no equal to f(a) + f(b) C. f(a+b)=sqrt(a+b) f(a)=sqrt(a) f(b)=sqrt(b) so f(a+b) no equal to f(a) + f(b) D. f(a+b)=2/(a+b) f(a)=2/a f(b)=2/b So f(a+b) no equal to f(a) + f(b) E. f(a+b...

C for me too.

'too long for the eye to register' is not wordy, it's clear and concise, besides looks better than 'too long to be registered by the eye'

Hi mlane, Everytime that you see inequalities, the best is to plug numbers. (1) when x^2, x can be either positive or negative that x^2 is always positive, and that is the same that happens in mod(x), a negative number returns positive and a positive remains positive. Exactly what is said in this op...

Hi mlane, The graph intersects the X axis when y=0. So (x+a)(x+b)=0 <-> x=-a or x=-b (1) says that a+b=-1; there are multiple choices for a em b, INSUFF (2) the graph intersects the Y axis in (0,-6). Any graph intersects the Y axis when x=0 so a*b=-6, again there are multiple choices for a anb b. (1...
