IMO E finding 2: most of the orders by people under 35. finding 1: 30% of subscribers under 35 placed order. as most of the orders by people less than 35, but subscribers under 35 contributed only 30% which can't be considered most, it means many orders were places by people who are nt subscribers..

in B) the Manhattan flagship store can be of any other chain also. (say UCB).

x>y?? B) x^3 >y x=2, y=3. b) satisfies but x<y and x=10,y=3 satisfies both condition. Insufficient A) root(x) > y if x=1/4, sqrt(x)=1/2. if y>1/4 and y<1/2, only one condition will satisfy. Thus insufficient A&B) x <0 is not possible as sqrt (x)>0 is given. if y<0, then all conditions satisfy. x...

B) |3-y|=11
|y-3|=11
if y>=3,y=14
if y<=3, y=-8. 2 solutions. insufficient
A) 3|x^2-4|=y-2
x value is not known. thus insufficient.

A&B) if y=-8, 3* |x^2 - 4| = -10 <0 not possible.
Thus y=14 sufficient

we know p^2 + b^2 = h^2 in a right angles triangle.
Thus let the side of A1 be p, A2 be b and A3=h.
a1 = pi * (p/2)^2 * 1/2 (=pi*r^2 / 2)
= pi/8 * p^2
similarly a2 = pi/8 * b^2
and a3 = pi/8 * h^2
Thus putting in (a1+a2)/a3 = p^2 + b^2 / h^2 = 1

Here is what I did 1. If xy =(xy)^2 and I plug in -1/2 as x into the equation, I get (-1/2)y= (-1/2)^2 y^2, 2. I then handle the parantheses to show (-1/2)y= (1/4)y^2. 3. Multiply the entire equation by 4, and get -2y=y^2, 4. divide by y on both sides and get y= -2 and therefore sufficient. in the ...

My solution: standard deviation (sd) means how far the numbers are from the mean...
the present numbers are 2,4,5,7
if we add 3 or 6, they lie in the range only and similarly 1,8 re just next to 2 and 7 respectively which are already in the set. 14 is too far from 7, and thus will increase sd the most
