I scored two 540s and a 550 on the Kaplan CATs, 690 and 710 on the GMATPrep, and 670 on the real test. As others have said, the Kaplan test scores are not an accurate prediction of how you'll perform on the real thing. Good luck!

DS and CR Help
I scored a disappointing 670 on the GMAT last week and am studying to take it again. I've determined that data sufficiency and critical reasoning are my two weakest subjects. What suggestions do you have for books or strategies to improve these two areas? Prior to last week's test, I studied for thr...

How to study for second attempt at GMAT?
After three months of studying, I took my first GMAT today and scored a disappointing 670 (Q44 V38). I'd like advice about how I should structure my studying for the second attempt, but first, I'll detail my studying thus far: 3 months ago: GMATPrep #1: 690 (Q39 V44) during next 3 months: Kaplan Pre...

I wouldn't worry about the Kaplan scores. I took my first GMATPrep test a few months ago at the start of my studying and scored 690. Then, I studied for three months and near the end of those three months, I took three Kaplan tests with the following scores: 550, 540 and 540. Last week, I took my fi...

One Week To Go...
I have exactly seven more days before my GMAT. - How should I study in these last few days? I have yet to complete the last GMATPrep test, so I'll be doing that within the next two days or so. - Should I review "learn-able" material like math and sentence correction? - When do I specify sc...

There seem to be varying opinions regarding the use of test prep companies such as Manhattan GMAT, Kaplan, Princeton Review, etc... However, the book that most everyone agrees is essential to GMAT prep is the Official Guide (OG). The latest revision is 12 (OG 12) - over 800 actual test questions. I'...

Same Practice Score - 3 months later...
I'd like some expert advice and analysis about some interesting test scores. 3 months ago: I took the GMATPrep 1 practice test and scored 690 (Q39 V41) WITHOUT doing the two AWA essays. Today: I took the GMATPrep 1 practice test again, recognized maybe 3 or 4 of the old questions, but the overwhelmi...

Congrats on a 700! That's an awesome score. While I'm certainly not a MBA admissions counselor, I would probably try the test again. If you scored a 700, I'm sure you could increase that score with another attempt. A 700 score is still slightly below the average score for all those top schools so an...

When to take GMATPrep practice tests
I just started my GMAT studying about two weeks ago and am planning to take it in about 3 months. My understanding is that I should take one of the GMATPrep practice tests about now (the start of my test prep), and then I should take test #2 prior to taking the actual test. Is this correct? I'm eage...

Hi Lisa, I have a 2.9 GPA from UCLA while studying mechanical engineering. My grades improved each year, and I earned a 3.3 GPA in my last 6 quarters of school. My top MBA choices are UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall and Berkeley Haas. My 2.9 GPA stems from various issues. I was never the smartest engine...
