"What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger." This quote is so true. Do you really think this is the most adversity you will face in life? Man up and take it again if you want to do better. Success is built off perserverance.

In my opinion, your first mistake was Kaplan. Manhattan Study Guides are WAY better. Get the GMAC Official Guides as well and do every question. Go over every answer until you understand exactly WHY all the wrong options are wrong and why the correct answer is right. As far as getting into a Top 20 ...

Taking it a third time will not hurt your chances, but it is generally accepted that taking the GMAT more than 4 times is unneccessary.
Just do your best and you will be happy with your score.

Oops misread question. What the explanation is saying is that it does not matter which variable is negative. We are trying to find xy. Since we know that one and only one of them is negative, it does not matter which one. Hence, all that matters is knowing the relationship between the absolute value...

This is how I figured it out....
If -4x * 12y = 0,
then either x or y MUST equal 0.
Hence xy ALWAYS equal to 0.

Gammacad,
I could be wrong, but I think that the 730 was not the problem, but rather the quant score. It was your breakdown, not your overall score.

Oops, made mistake in math on second part. But just remember, rule is do not divide variables in inequalities unless you know the sign. When in doubt, use logic to find out. Second Method can not be right because it is saying that x CAN NOT be between -1 and 0, which is incorrect. It can be any nega...

The first method is correct. First off, just think about the second method. x < -1 is not true. As long as x is NEGATIVE x^2 will be greater than x because x^2 will always be positive and x will always be negative. (so it should be x < 0) Now look at it mathematically, x^2 > x (assuming x negative)....
