Hey Vipul, Do you see how your answer doesn't even make sense? If the average is 66 but the women got 70, which is higher than 66, then we need something lower from the men, to balance it out. If the women got 70 and the men got 78, the overall average would be somewhere between 70 and 78. -t P.S. I...

Yes, my understanding is that leaving questions blank (i.e. with the old strategy of devoting more time to the front) is a bad strategy at any reasonable test score level, and so it would be irresponsible to give any advice other than "Don't leave questions blank."

A lot of great discussion here, but I know folks like the final executive order: Scientists have found signs that moving water changed the chemical makeup of the surface of Mars in recent eras, therefore concluding that its crust is harboring up to three times as much water than was previously thoug...

Hey Jain,

Absolutely right. The unlike makes them dissimilar, so it doesn't make sense to then try to compare levels.

I think you're thinking of it backwards. If there are fewer fishermen, there would be more salmon!

Hey Piyush,

That's definitely not right, but I'm afraid I can't even follow the logic. If you want to explain where each step comes from, that might help. First thing is I'm not sure where you're getting 77. Did you mean 70? If so, try redoing your math with that...

Hey Aditya, Yeah, that's a tough one. I personally prefer the present perfect, because the implication of the sentence is that the action of the slump does continue into the present (they said they would start a liquidation, meaning they haven't yet). So I believe both tenses are justifiable, but th...

Hey Aditya, Fair enough. Always worth remembering that there are plenty of official question that have a weird sound to them. Indeed, the only real issues here are the singular pronoun its (matching up with retailer), and the past perfect verb (because we need to go back in time BEFORE the simple pa...

Hey Sana,

Again, "to" is not being used for intention here. It's an idiom, much like:

He is thought to be a great man.
He is known to be a great golfer.
He admits to being a terrible person.

Hey Aditya,

No, this is a separate idiom: "grounds to". So it isn't about intent.

Believe it or not, I actually have a problem with this argument as written. If answer choice (B) is true, then the ticks numbers are limited by food sources. Okay. Great. So now we increase the numbers of all the other creatures they could feed on. This would cause the number of deer ticks to increa...
