Edit: There is a typo in my post/images, line p should be n and viceversa. Slope of p will always be greater than the slope of n It's a lot easier if you graph. Slope of n will always be greater than the slope of p. http://s3.postimage.org/mhpiaryc/image.jpg http://s3.postimage.org/mgqs0hl0/image.jpg

NVM I should have done the following: x = 5q + 3 x = 7k + 4 5q + 3 = 7k + 4 5q - 7k = 1 Find values that satisfy this condition: 5(3) - 7(2) = 1 5(10) - 7(7) = 1 x = 5(3) + 3 = 18; x = 7(2) + 4 = 18 x = 5(10) + 3 = 53; x = 7(7) + 4 = 53 Hi, is there other way to find two values of x, other than plug...

Hi, is there other way to find two values of x, other than plugging numbers? I could only find one value with my crappy logic: x = 5q + 3 -> So the MIN value of x is 8 x = 7q + 4 -> So the MIN value of x is 11 So x must be divisible by 8 and also divisible by 11, hence x must be 88, which satisfy bo...

IMO this statement is refering to the length of side R not angle R. So instead it should be: what's is the measure of angle R. IMO this question is incomplete/ambiguous? In isosceles triangle RST, what is the measure of R? (1) the measure of T = 100 (2) The measure of S = 40. My logic: From (1), R +...

You cannot subtract inequalities neither divide them. You can combine (sum) inequalities when they have the same INEQ sign (<or>) You can multiply inequalities when they have the same INEQ sign and if all terms are positive Also you can use GT(x) or LT(x) to refer to less than or greater than respec...

Thanks for your responses guys. Actually... I think that my main problem is that I'm not quick enough solving questions and that I make too many careless mistakes. I do think that I can solve most of the quantitative questions. I'm 95% sure that my lack of speed and all these careless mistakes are d...

(x² + y²) = 1; Is x + y = 1 ? Rephrasing: x + y = 1 ? (x + y)² = 1² ? x² + 2xy + y² = 1 ? (x² + y²) + 2xy = 1 ? 1 + 2xy = 1 ? 2xy = 0 ? xy = 0 ? 1) xy = 0 is sufficient to answer (either x or y equals 1 and the other 0) 2) y = 0 is sufficient to answer (y = 0 thus x =1) I got (D) but... I gu...

Thanks pemdas and vineeshp for your wise words. I really appreciate the time you have taken to read these lines. Right now I'm waiting to hear if I'm going to be selected for scholarship program. I know people that had been accepted with a score 10 point lower than me (470) so I think I still have a...

1/k > 0 ? Is k > 0?
STMT A = k > 0 but does not include 1
STMT B = k could be (-) from -1 to 0 exclusive or (+) from 0 to 1 exclusive
IMO A
naveenhv wrote:If k is not equal to 0,1 or -1, is 1/k > 0?
1) 1/(k-1) > 0
2) 1/(k+1) > 0

Edit: Oh never mind... It's a DS question lol... I'll go for...C??? Is OA 6??? the question doesn't say that n must be an integer but I'm assuming that... Because when n = 8 the result is 10, all the values less than n = 8 will yield a result greater than 10. This is n = 2,3,4,5,6,and 7. I did the m...

What is the remainder when +ve integer x is divided by 3 ? 1) x divided by 6 gives a remainder of 2 x = 6q + 2 x = (3*2)q + 2 x = 3(2q) + 2 When x is divided by 3, the remainder is 2, but the quotiend must be doubled. Sufficient 8 = 6(1) + 2 -> 8 = 3(2) + 2 20 = 6(3) + 2 + -> 20 = 3(6) + 2 2) x div...
