u can solve this is not more than 30 secs...

heres how...

when jane starts reading, tom is already 50mins ahead of jane.

thus in those 50 mins tom has read 30*5/6=25 pages.

The relative speed of tom and jane is 10pages per hour...

so jane will catch up with tom in 25/10=2.5 hours.

well in 3rd SC even i reckon "opinion on" is the right idiom....but the issue that arises is the usage of "like".. "Such ...as" is the right usage for giving examples....

D can make sense but one has to think a bit out of scope and according to me this is a must be true question... so the answer has to be implied in the passage itself.

the best way to approach such problem is go the way it says....

90=x/100 of boys --------1

boys = 40/100 of x---------2

Put 2 in 1 we get

90=x/100 * 40/100 * x

solve this.. u get 22500=x^2

thus x=150
