Hmmm..So I dug further on this. Looks like this question is quite amazing in the sense that we have three different choices credited as right at three different times. Here you say that the correct answer is C. Folks at Manhattan GMAT have found that the same question has A and D as the right answer...

I don't think it is C. I'd go with B. C suggests a strange meaning - In addition to her work on the Miocene hominid fossil record, Mary Leakey was a contributor to archaeology with her discovery of the earliest direct evidence of hominid activity and with her painstaking documentation of East Africa...

A is undoubtedly the best answer. However, A has an error. It misses the article a before naturalized citizen . Option A - The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, a native of Germany and naturalized citizen of Switzerland, preferred to describe himself as "a good European". Correct - The phil...

Hi Niksworth, Though I agree with you on parallelism case but don't you feel that "including treating cancer" is awkward??????? A few things here. 1. When there is a choice between a clear grammatical error and awkwardness, we should rather go with the awkward choice. 2. B is the best cho...

C violates parallelism. C - including the treatment of cancer, relieving arthritis, and dulling pain This is of the form - including noun, gerund, and gerund. Ideally it should be either - including noun, noun, noun or including gerund, gerund, and gerund. Option B - including treating cancer, relie...

In my opinion 1000 SC is a horrible resource for GMAT preparation. OG10,11,12 with Verbal Review have enough questions to set one up for the sternest of tests. But thats just me I guess. Stacy Koprince has written some fantastic articles on how to get the best out of the official sources. I would ad...

I asked about the reference of "it" not for just getting to the correct answer but to clear my concepts :-)........... Look, it is not referring to anything in the sentence. Clearly this is an error. I am sure this question is not from an official source. Just one of the perils of attempt...

All wrong choices A,B,C,E have one glaring error. After/Since its international debut - its will refer to the closest noun in the main clause. In A/B/C/E this noun is progress , which makes the reference incorrect because the its should refer to cube and not progress . The sentence should be somethi...

My answer is D, and O.A is E . The reason I chose D is because that I have concern about the usage of passive voice whenever the word "by" appears in the sentence. In this case,"high speeds can be attained by..." rather than "high speeds by reducing". Why we don't emph...
