i have the same problem.. and I do exactly as you have... once i see an inference question i read all of the answer choices and from there I make the best judgment of what the question is asking This is what I understand about Inference questions.. the answer won't be directly "in the text"...

the last week before the exam i would do nothing but practice on OG11 or the GMATprep... because you want to get familiar with the original test maker's wording and style of questions. And frankly no practice CATs out there more "accurate" than the GMATprep.. good luck!

i might be wrong but i don't think the program is mac supported..

don't be discouraged, watch your timing! i didn't score so hot when i first started either but gradually you'll improve. Learn to burn questions that's beyond your ability!

if you choose to go with the real exam and use the score as your benchmark I would not cancel the score my reasoning is most schools do not take into account your previous scores, and if you do choose to use is as a benchmark then you want to know the score right? or you will not know if you improve...
