Hello Jon, In my AUX essay, I plan to address the following issues: 1) I have a low GPA, BUT... -GPA has continuously increased every semester since a tough two semesters in a row. -Worked fulltime (Long Hours) in order to pay for my degree. -Engineering Undergrad program is reasonably difficult. 2)...

CORRECTION: I was looking at how UT and Rice calculate GPA. These schools do not base GPA on Senior and Junior level classes only. In that case, I have a 2.961 GPA. Yes, I had a tough start in my Engineering Undergrad program, but I turned it around and even graduated with honors... (Cum Laude). Hon...

Prof. Eval. Please! 700GMAT, 3.45GPA, RICE/UT-Houston

Hello, Can someone please evaluate my profile for the application to UT-Houston (Part Time), or RICE (Part Time)? Thanks in advance! GMAT: 700 (90th Percentile), 48Q 38V Undergrad GPA (Junior/Senior courses, as calculated by UT/Rice): 3.45 Work Experience: 5 Years Full Time, 7 Years with Internships...

Take a look at the schools you intent to apply to. All of the schools that I am applying for look at either 1) last 60 or so hours, or 2) Junior & Senior level courses, only. For example: I have a 2.96 GPA but, according to my recalculated GPA, I have a 3.45 in one program, and a 3.5 as evaluate...

Scaled Score vs Percentile (The Make-Up of the GMAT Score)

I find it quite odd that many on this board consider, for example, 40Q 42V a closely balanced score. I have even noticed experienced posters infer that colleges would consider this score balanced as well. This does not quite make sense to me as I just took an MGMAT practice exam, and the scores were...

Are you keeping an error log? You can work problems all day long, but if you don't understand why and how you are making errors, it is far more difficult to correct them. This has helped me the most from a concept standpoint.

Selected for an Interview: What does it REALLY mean?

So I was selected for an interview for admission to the C.T. Bauer at the University of Houston. My question is: What does it mean to be selected for an interview when the school does not select everyone for an interview? 1) Does this mean that I am border line and I need to further display skills o...
