The ans is B when we simplify the question we get 2^(a-c) * 3^(b-d) / 5^e when we have prime factors other than 2 and 5 in the denominator we get non-terminating decimal. 1) a>c is in sufficient. "like" is used to compare nouns. "as" is used to compare actions.
Here we are comparing how the nerve is stimulated by spicy food and how the nerve is stimulated by a raise in temperature.
Since we are comparing two actions, we use "as" and not "like".

for A alone the equation is:
1 = 1/12 X t1
for B and C together
1 = (1/15)+(1/18) X t2
question is what is the ratio of t1 and t2 which is 22/15. So D is the correct option.

"spicy foods" is plural so usage of "makes" is incorrect. Hence we can eliminate A,B,C
In C there is an ambiguity what "they" refers to.
In E "The reason that ....." and "because" is verbose.
Hence D is the correct answer.
