I really liked the Manhattan quant guides. There are lots of them so you can buy only the ones for the topics you're struggling with. They are very in depth and help you understand the topic rather than just giving you tricks for how to solve the problems. In fact, I really wish I had discovered the...

700 in 4 months is totally doable! I've been out of school for 7 years (translation: haven't studied, done math or taken a written test in 7 years), and I got a 730 after 3 months of studying. The key is dedication. I could recommend some of the study materials I found useful, but first tell me wher...

Oh, I'm not Indian, didn't mean to imply that. But I do have an IT background. I was more interested in whether the whole package of "Indian IT male" was over represented or whether the IT industry was generally over represented.

IT backgrounds
I've read through this (and other) MBA forum a lot and keep seeing male Indians with IT backgrounds being labelled as "over represented". I'm wondering if it's just this combination that is over represented, meaning to only male Indians , with IT backgrounds have tougher chances of getting...

Oh and one other slight disadvantage I have is that I won't be able to apply for 1st rounds to any of the schools.

Requesting profile evaluation for European b schools
I'm planning on applying to INSEAD, IE and RMS. My profile: GMAT 730 (q47/v42) Undergrad: BSc Computer Science with minor in math GPA roughly 3.2 (with very high math grades, but a few computer science courses weighing down my GPA) Work experience: 4 years in IT (mainly QA, but also did some consult...

Haha, wow I could see how that would work, but man what a crazy convoluted way to get a CD to work. Kaplan should just fix the problem! It's yet another strike against them in my books.

I took my first GMAT Prep test after completing the Quant section in the 60 day guide. After I did the verbal section in the 60 day guide I went back and did "a lot of quant" - this was above the practice the 60 day guide recommended. I mainly re-did the questions I got wrong the first tim...

I had a very similar experience to yours: I just "knew" the answers to the verbal section - mostly, but not completely. Even though you have a natural instinct for verbal there is always room for improvement. For me the easiest place to improve was in SC. I was similar in that I could just...

Yes this is definitely still the case! Don't pay attention to your Kaplan scores. Just use the tests to practice timing and hard questions. These are my scores, look at the huge discrepancies between gmat prep and kaplan: Kaplan #1 - 550 Q30 V33 GMAT Prep #1 - 690 Q48 V37 Kaplan #2 - 560 Q37 V31 Kap...
