To be honest, I didn't really read all of what you wrote because of all the fuzzy numbers, but I do feel like pointing out a couple of things which may or may not apply to your post even. -There are only 8 Ivy League schools and not necessarily all (or half) of them are ranked in the Top 10 national...

There's a thin line between being hopeful and being pollyannaish, but hey, let us know how it goes. Maybe you're just like that Harvard kid who created Facebook.

Undergrad admission rates aren't comparable to graduate school admission rates. The pool of people being compared is highly different, even though the MBA is probably one of the more saturated graduate degrees out there. And there are definitely run-of-the-mill Ivy kids out there. You try to stay wi...

lol... Only 3% of the 15% of people that get accepted out of the total pool of applicants are undergrads. That's what I'm getting across. I know I wrote 'chance' (indicating this must be a probability question I'm putting forth so please try to answer it) but I didn't think anyone would get all GMAT...

I think I read out of Harvard's accepted candidates, only 3% were straight out of undergrad (forget for which year). So given their 15% acceptance rate, that's a 0.4% chance. Yeah, I think if you get accepted into a Top 10 straight out of undergrad, you will probably need to be somebody like Bill Ga...

Blanket statements on...what? Ok, I made a mistake in recalling what the percentiles were and I lost that code to check my pdf, and btw those are the same tables I got (and everyone else who took it recently), but that doesn't mean the percentiles fluctuate at all. The reason you got a 710 is becaus...

If you have taken the GMATs, then they will give you their percentile tables. I don't think those change very much, at least very little within a few years' timeframe.

I don't think there is a 88 percentile Verbal score. 40V corresponds to 89 percentile and 39V to 85 (I think, I really don't feel like digging out the pdf they sent me).
720 is 95 percentile.

Except you're not competing against the run-of-the-mill ivy league guy. You're probably competing against a fairly ambitious one. And I think Oxbridge is probably the only pair of schools that really hold credence in people's minds (in the States) in terms of foreign schools. Once again, most people...

Re: 710
710 Nirvana! Well, not quite, but in my opinion, good enough to not be a factor during admissions. Should I retake and get a 760? Go ahead, but ask yourself what would the 760 convey (compared to the 710) to the evaluator. I am very curious of one thing and I'll be so happy if anyone can provide in...

Just got my AWA score: 5.5. I kinda expected that -- one of the reasons I came up for the Issue essay was complete nonsense. I couldn't help but roll my eyes when I was rereading it but didn't have time to come up with a better one. Oh well.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. My first Kaplan CAT was 670, then 650, 610 and the final one 570. On the final CAT, I got 60% of the reading comp and 40% of the SC wrong. LOL! But I attribute that most to the fact that Kaplan's reading comps are 'way' too long, since I rarely have trouble with ...

A lot of the people here are foreign. It's no surprise they'll be better than the average American. Chinese elementary schools, for instance, start teaching Algebra at least as early as second grade. Most kids here at that age can barely read.
